Our Story

From an engineer's project plans to Sri Lanka's most distinctive highland tourism specialist

Founder-Led Since 2018 Germany & India Focus SLTDA Registered
2018

Where It All Began

In Pelmadulla, at the intersection of engineering discipline and lifelong local knowledge, a conviction took shape: the hill country heartland of Sabaragamuwa and Uva remained the world's most undiscovered tourism jewel, and the time had come to reveal its splendour to discerning global travellers.

TCV Travels Sri Lanka was founded in 2018 by Mr. Susith Nishantha Premasiri — a graduate civil engineer holding a BSc in Engineering and an MSc in Project Management, whose combination of professional rigour and genuine Pelmadulla roots created precisely the kind of company the central highlands' tourism market was missing.

There is a particular kind of traveller — the German nature enthusiast who wants ecological depth and meticulous logistics in equal measure; the Indian gem trade visitor who wants genuine mine-level access. TCV Travels Sri Lanka was built precisely for them, by someone who applies project-management rigour to every detail of the journey.

The Journey

Our Milestones

From a shared vision in 2018 to a trusted highland tourism specialist

Pre-2018

An Engineer's Foundation

Susith Nishantha Premasiri completes his BSc in Engineering and goes on to earn an MSc in Project Management, while drawing on decades of lifelong local knowledge of Pelmadulla. These two disciplines — engineering-grade systems thinking and genuine highland roots — would become the foundation of TCV Travels Sri Lanka.

2018

TCV Travels Sri Lanka Founded — and Terrace Cinnamon View Established

Mr. Premasiri establishes TCV Travels Sri Lanka (Private) Limited on Kuttapitiya Road, Pelmadulla. SLTDA registration is achieved as an authorised inbound tour operator, and in the same year the company develops Terrace Cinnamon View — a boutique 7-room hotel on a 6-acre cinnamon and tea estate — integrating accommodation with tour operations from the start.

2019

Conservation & Community Partnerships

TCV Travels Sri Lanka establishes partnerships with the Sinharaja Research Station, Peak Wilderness Sanctuary rangers, and the Sabaragamuwa Province Wildlife Department, alongside community relationships with the Ratnapura gem merchant and plantation cooperatives across the district.

2024 – 2025

Digital Growth — Social Media & WhatsApp Coordination

A Facebook and Instagram presence is launched, showcasing Pelmadulla's waterfalls, the Terrace Cinnamon View estate, and gem heritage experiences. WhatsApp Business integration follows in 2025, enabling real-time guest coordination especially valued by the Indian market.

2026

Website Launch & Phase 1 of the Expansion Blueprint

The TCV Travels Sri Lanka website launches, presenting the full service portfolio to German and Indian source markets. The company enters Phase 1 of its 2024–2035 expansion blueprint — consolidating its leadership position in the Pelmadulla highland destination market and deepening market relationships in Germany and India.

2028 – 2030 →

Regional Leadership & Legacy

Targeting an expanded Terrace Cinnamon View toward 15 rooms with a dedicated plantation wellness facility, formal recognition for Pelmadulla as a premier emerging eco-tourism destination, and PATA and UNWTO sustainable tourism certification — all rooted in the founder's original engineering-grade standard.

The Founding Vision

Three Forces, One Purpose

The convergence that makes TCV Travels Sri Lanka impossible to replicate

An Engineer's Precision

Susith Nishantha Premasiri — BSc Engineering, MSc Project Management

Formal engineering and project-management training translates directly into how TCV Travels Sri Lanka plans routes, selects suppliers, and trains guides — scope definition, risk registers, and quality gates applied to every itinerary.

Irreplaceable Pelmadulla Roots

Born and Raised in Pelmadulla — Decades of Local Intelligence

Genuine community relationships across Pelmadulla and Ratnapura give the founder access to gem traders, plantation estate managers, and hidden trails that no outsider operator can simulate or replicate.

Genuine Sustainability DNA

Environmental stewardship built into every decision since founding

TCV Travels Sri Lanka's commitment to responsible tourism is built into every supplier partnership and itinerary decision since 2018 — including active Sinharaja conservation participation and local-first procurement across Pelmadulla and Ratnapura.

What Sets Us Apart

The TCV Travels Sri Lanka Difference

A Founder-Led Engineering Standard

Every itinerary reflects the same precision its founder applies to engineering project delivery. TCV Travels Sri Lanka does not sell shelf packages — every journey is built from the ground up around the guest in front of us.

24/7 In-Country Guest Support

Round-the-clock support coordinated directly through Susith Nishantha Premasiri and the TCV Travels team via WhatsApp, for every active tour guest across every highland itinerary.

Owned, Integrated Hospitality

Every guest's accommodation at Terrace Cinnamon View is managed end-to-end — no element outsourced without direct founder oversight. This integrated model maintains TCV Travels Sri Lanka's standard throughout every programme.

What We Are

More Than a Tour Operator

TCV Travels Sri Lanka embodies the convergence of engineering discipline, genuine Pelmadulla roots, and unwavering commitment to responsible experiences that benefit every stakeholder: guests, communities, and the fragile highland ecosystems we steward.

We are engineering rigour meeting authentic local heritage. We are project-management discipline meeting personalised itinerary excellence. We are ambitious growth meeting genuine community respect and Pelmadulla cultural integrity.

"There is a particular kind of traveller who wants to feel a place, not just see it. For these travellers, a standard tour will not do. They need a partner who understands the highlands from the inside. TCV Travels Sri Lanka was built precisely for them."
